Basic Life Support Certification and Re-accreditation

This Basic Life Support course is open to anyone wishing to obtain a BLS certificate.

Course Information

Course Duration: 1.5 hours in addition to pre-reading

Certification: On successfully completing Basic Life Support course, candidates will receive a certificate of competency.

This certificate is valid for 12 months and is requalified via successful completion of a 1.5 hr requalification course.

Course Fee:

  • $35.00 (GST free) Certification
  • $30 (GST free) Re-accreditation

Fee includes:

  • Training and Assessment
  • Use of all training aids (Manikins and face masks etc)
  • Resuscitation certificate

Course Registration

Participants seeking competency assessment for Basic Life Support (BLS) are required to:

  • Collect application form from reception, level 4 Building 21
  • Complete payment at ECU cashier office (Building 18)
  • Produce payment receipt to reception and collect pre-reading package
  • Book into a BLS workshop at reception. Workshop will be 1.5 hours
  • Complete pre-reading package and test paper
  • If your registration is for re-accreditation your current certificate needs to be presented to the instructor at the practical workshop
  • Hand in test paper to instructor when arrive at workshop for practical assessment
  • Successfully pass multiple choice test paper (80% pass required)
  • Successfully pass practical workshop
  • Collect certificate of completion from Instructor

Participants who are not able to hand in test paper on arrival to BLS workshop will not be able to undertake practical assessment and will be required to book into another workshop.

24hrs cancellation is required if participants are not able to attend practical workshop. Contact 6304 2399 for cancellations. Failure to do so will require an additional payment to rebook into a workshop.

Edith Cowan University reserves the right to cancel any workshop if enrollment numbers are not adequate. Participants will be notified by email or telephone.
