Postgraduate Nursing Courses
Postgraduate Nursing offer a variety of options for postgraduate study ranging from doctoral studies through masters, post graduate diplomas and certificates.
Graduate Certificate
- Postgraduate Certificate in Community Mental Health Nursing : A look at past and present approaches of community health programs, and an overview of assessment and intervention strategies within a community environment.

- Graduate Certificate in Rural and Remote Mental Health : This course is designed for non mental health professionals and aims to equip the health worker with the knowledge and skills to manage mental health clients safely within a broad framework or assessment and treatment.
- Graduate Certificate in Nurse Led Telephone Triage and Consultation : This course will allow students to extend their clinical, legal, ethical, moral and cultural knowledge while using a range of communication skills in conjunction with computer software. These skills will impact on the effective delivery of services in the primary, secondary and emergency arenas and facilitate participants involvement in telephone triage and consultation. Participants may qualify for advanced standing where appropriate.
- Graduate Certificate in Practice Nursing : The Graduate Certificate in Practice Nursing develops knowledge and skills of registered nurses within the general practice setting. Graduate Diploma
- Postgraduate Diploma of Nursing (Mental Health) : Developing the knowledge, skill and clinical competencies for the registered nurse to gain eligibility to register as a Registered Mental Health Nurse.
- Graduate Diploma of Occupational Medicine, Health and Safety: This course is designed to equip medical practitioners and nurses with practical knowledge in and skills to respond to contemporary occupational issues. The course focuses on the application of knowledge into the clinical setting.

- Master of Preventive Medicine : This course provides the nurse with a knowledge and skill base which can be used in a variety of roles.
- Master of Nursing by Research : For registered nurses looking to develop leadership roles within the profession and open up new areas for professional development. The course also prepares graduates for further study at the doctorate level.
- Master of Nursing (Nurse Practitioner) : This cross-institutional Master of Nursing degree (by Coursework) prepares the student for registration as a Nurse Practitioner to the Nurses and Midwives Board of Western Australia. Developed in conjunction with the Flinders University in South Australia the program combines a strong focus on clinical skills development with advanced theory-to-practice topics specifically designed to meet the needs of the professional, regulatory and political context in which graduates will practice. - Master of Women's Health Care : The Master of Women's Health Care offers a broad range of postgraduate study options to those involved in the provision of health services for women. Inclusive of public health, social and clinical aspects women's health care, and developed between women's health, psychology, nursing, midwifery and medical disciplines across two Schools, this course will cater for students from a range of undergraduate backgrounds. It will provide graduates with the knowledge and skills to improve the delivery of care to women within the individual clinical, policy and/or organisational context.

- Doctor of Philosophy : Developing and extending research expertise and clinical knowledge for practicing nurses which culminates in the submission of a thesis.
