At the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Postgraduate Medicine, we believe collaboration and strong alliances with industry is key to building a strong health and education sector.

We structure our courses on a collaborative teaching model involving major public and private hospitals, with strong involvement of all clinical areas.

We strive to produce broadly educated graduates with an understanding of society, the inevitable interplay of power, politics and policy in relation to health and health care provision.  Our students learn and practice teamwork, leadership and problem solving skills.

Examples of Partnerships in Research

  • The Systems and Intervention Research Centre in Health (SIRCH) has the vision to identify systemic healthcare issues requiring a solution, and support and conduct research that will ultimately feed into policy intelligence and system-wide planning.  The focus of the Centre is on the primary end of the healthcare system that being the first point of contact, as well as on the linkages between the parts of the overall configuration of services across sectors and levels.
