How can I apply for Overseas Registration?
You should make contact with the preferred registering board in the country of choice and ask to have their application forms sent to you. When you have completed the application form you should then send this together with all requested documentation to the Administrative Support Officer (Undergraduate) together with AU$100 registration processing fees and with your contact details.
It is preferable to make contact with the Administrative Support Officer (Undergraduate) prior to sending your paperwork to the School, to familiarise yourself with the process. The Administrative Support Officer can be contacted on (61 8) 6304 3495 or email: snmpm@ecu.edu.au
How do I obtain Unit Outlines?
Depending on how old the unit outlines are, it is possible to obtain copies through the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Postgraduate Medicine Undergraduate Office, telephone: (61 8) 6304 3495 or email us. If your unit outline is older than five years, then it will have been archived and you may need to contact the Library to obtain a copy. The Administrative Support Officer (Undergraduate) will be able to provide you with advice on what you need to do to obtain archived information.
Can I undertake part of my studies in another country?
We do have student exchange programs with other countries. We have had students come from and go to Vermont in USA and have also had students undertake their final practicum in countries such as Thailand.
Any information in regard to overseas study can be obtained through the School of Nursing, Midwifery & Postgraduate Medicine Undergraduate Office. Contact the Administrative Support Officer (Undergraduate) on (61 8) 6304 3495 or email snmpm@ecu.edu.au.
How can I get in contact with Staff?
You can email your Course or Year Coordinator or you can telephone them. You can find their contact details in the Meet the Staff section.
There is a telephone and an internal telephone directory located in the Reception waiting area (Building 21, Level 4) where you can telephone individual staff. Please ask Reception staff should you require any assistance.
Your booklist can be located by accessing SIMO. Once you have linked through to SIMO, you will need to log in. The menu on the site provides the link to personalised information including your booklist, study timetable and academic history.
What is SIMO and what information can I extract from it?
Once you have completed your SIMO log-in, every piece of information that is on SIMO is personalised to your individual needs. You can access information about your tuition fees, course results, course information, course progress, study and examination timetable as well as your booklist. You can also enrol on-line and up-date your personal details.
You should access the SIMO home page and you will be provided with instructions. SIMO has information about re-enrolment, information for new and existing students and information for graduating students.
For Commonwealth Supported Students this is the date that education institutions are required to report their final numbers to DEEWR (Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations). The census dates are usually 31 March for Semester 1, and 31 August for Semester 2. On those dates you become liable to pay your student contribution amount for any units in which you are enrolled. I have started a postgraduate certificate and wish to convert to a masters program, can this be done?
Many of the Postgraduate courses are linked in some way and it is usually possible to move from one award to another.
